1/4/10

I miss my son. I know it's time to go home when I dream about home; and last night I dreamt of home. Or at least I thought I dreamt of home. One of the strangest things about this place is that I have noticed that I fall asleep with ease. It might be the alcohol.

This morning I made eggs and fruit bread and coffee and sucked it all down and proceeded to wash out some clothes. Then proceeded to get thoroughly sick because of all the butter I have to use to cook with here. I'm not use to the fat. I know, you wouldn't be able to tell it to look at me but I am very aware of the fat and sugar content in everything I cook.

I squeezed all the water out of my clothes and went ahead and opened the window and it was raining. Now my husband is sulking because he wanted to go snorkeling and he's not going to be able to go now because of the wind and rain.

He's become a snorkel maniac.

He taught me to snorkel. I am officially a novice.

It's fun.

It's like looking at an aquarium. Only you're in the aquarium.

Not sure if I'm going to get the big thrills he does. He could stay under water for hours.

And he wonders where Booga gets it?

He loves tropical places. He learned to snorkel in the Florida Key's. He fell head over heels for it.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hawaii or going to the Florida Key's and snorkeling. I think the Bahamas might be nice to visit also. I'm more of a historical-land-marky "Hey where have you been in Europe?" kind of person.

Well, I take that back. Sometimes I am….I really do enjoy the warm water and the swimming and so forth. I enjoy getting away from the dark. A week away from the snow and ice and dark is worth a lot of anti-anxiety drugs. Not kidding. It is.

The thing I am not looking forward to and have been forcing to the back of my mind is the stuff that I have to do when I get home. I have to complete the guardianship papers and make the copies and submit it to the court within 14 days of having signed the thing. I have my sister-in-laws signature to get. I have to serve my older children and my sister-in-law, I have to serve Booga….Who will probably draw "LadyHawke," on the back of it, or something to do with the movie, so that makes complete sense to have to serve him with papers.

<One eyebrow raises>

People, people, people.

I have bills to pay and vouchers to submit so people can get paid. Then I have to type all this into a computer so I can post it and other people can benefit from the halo of knowledge that I have accumulated and that floats like air around my head.

I'm being sarcastic for those who don't recognize it.

Do you recognize it?

I've been writing this all long hand and it will probably condense down to like a paragraph and a half. And most of it I'll probably ditch.

Be happy…It's probably for the best.

Oye….
